| CANON: Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
| NAME: Adam Jensen
| CANON POINT: End game
| AGE: 34
| APPEARANCE: Mid 30s, 6'3", 182lbs. He has a hexagonal indentation on his forehead by the left temple, and the metal rims of his glasses are implanted into his face/skull. His hands are black metal prostheses.

| CANON HISTORY: Wiki
| PERSONALITY (Contains Spoilers):

Adam Jensen has very little sense of humor, with only the occasional dry or sarcastic wit. He's logical, unafraid of confrontation, blunt, and can be very honest even if it's hurtful or unnecessary. Adam is not easily persuaded by others and can be doggedly stubborn -- however, when presented with the facts of a situation he will at least consider his previously held position could need to be reexamined. He has the type of personality where he is cynical of almost everything and would want to research something for himself to understand the facts.

Adam has a protective personality stemming from his relationship with his adoptive mother. She was not mentally stable, and would sometimes take Adam out of school to go on "adventures" or errands. Adam grew up in an environment where his father worked long hours and he was often taking care of his mother rather than his mother taking care of him. The connection between this childhood influence and his behavior as an adult is easy to correlate. While his job title is that of a simple security officer, he leaves the office and goes on some pretty crazy "adventures" all across the world, into secure government compounds and worse. His need to protect and serve took him into police work and later into being a security officer.

While he believes in doing good in a grand sense of the word, he has some very questionable morals along the way. He's highly skilled in killing, interrogation, lying, stealing, breaking and entering, and doing anything he thinks is necessary to get the job done and to complete a mission. That being said, often his mission is moral but he is definitely of the mindset that "the ends justify the means." Adam is very focused on his goals and has little personal life since his accident (getting shot and almost killed on duty). While he can be personable it's because he sees, in those specific situations, the necessity of it to get answers faster or to persuade people. That's not to say he's not entirely unlikable or without good qualities. Those characters in the video game who knew him before the accident, when he was a police officer and S.W.A.T. leader, have a high regard for him and are mostly on friendly terms with him. Post-accident, Adam seems to have either secluded himself purposefully or alienated people subconsciously. It's likely a combination of both.

After the accident and being reconstructed with augmentations (robotic limbs and organs) he remains mentally himself but with self doubts that came with the transformation. Adam questions his own humanity just as the political/social atmosphere of the game questions the humanity of augmented people and the morality of transforming the human body into these highly advanced prosthetic pieces. He enjoys the power it gives him, super human strength and speed and a host of other abilities, but the question of how much to use that power and how far to take it come up throughout game play. Ultimately the augmentations allow him to get done what he otherwise wouldn't be able to and that bothers him, being a man very independent and capable, but Adam reconciles this somewhat by realizing that his own mind is still intact and his own and that he can choose what to do with the power he's been given -- even if he didn't ask for or want that power.

One of the most defining aspects of the game is that Adam is searching constantly for his ex-girlfriend, Megan. Even though he does jobs, missions and tasks for a host of people the overlaying goal for him personally is finding and rescuing Megan. While the player ironically has the sense she does not need saving Adam is almost singular in his thought that he must, and goes to extreme measures and risks extreme danger to himself to do this.

While there are different endings possible in the game, the important point to note is that in order to proceed in the game you have to kill the people in the boss-battles, and at least one of those kills is very callous. Some of the terrible things he does in the game you still get the "good" ending, so it's justifiable in my opinion to say that overall he's not a very moral character. This is especially true considering he steals, computer hacks, and breaks-into things throughout the game regardless of the actual character decision/killing decision the player has to make to get the different endings. The culmination of my personality was keeping all of this in mind. Adam Jensen is not the most moral person and he believes the ends (occasionally killing people, taking a few short cuts) is worth the ultimate goal.

| POWERS & ABILITIES:

Adam is ~70% mechanical. After nearly dying his Sarif Industries boss took it upon himself (thanks to some small print in Adam's contract) to not only replace the damaged arm of his but both arms, both legs, add augments to his brain, eyes, spine, etc. What this means is that Adam has super speed, strength, reflexes as well as some highly advanced other abilities such as hacking, falling from great heights, seeing through walls, moving silently, and so on. Below is a list of his Augmentations. The ones in GREEN are somewhat innate to his simply having the augment. The ones marked in RED require energy to use/activate (meaning they have only a short duration or he could only perform a few times before running low on energy). The only manner in which Adam can regain this energy in the game is by eating (something like high-protein energy bars is ideal).

CRANIUM AUGMENTATIONS:
>Hacking (Capture/Analyze/Robot&Turret Domination/Fortify/Stealth): Adam can hack into the highest security terminals and electronically locked doors, he can fortify his hacking defenses, analyze the strengths of locks, hide his own hacking trail, and take control of robots/turrets/cameras hooked into security systems.

>Wayfinder Radar System: Track targets through obstacles/walls.

>Infolink: The Infolink Telecommunications Package enables users to receive and transmit messages without generating audible sounds through implanted cochlear and vibration detection devices. Video signals accompanying incoming transmissions are projected directly onto the user's retina, provided an Eye-Know Retinal Prosthesis is also implanted. Users can obtain mastery over wideband transmissions as well, enabling them to interface with line-of-sight computer terminals or similar devices. (I think of this as Bluetooth implanted directly into his brain, he can talk to people through it and interface with computers/electronics with it).

>Social Enhancer: The Computer-Assisted Social Interaction Enhancer (C.A.S.I.E.) is a cranial implant that ties directly in to the user's existing Eye-Know Retinal Prosthesis to relay environmental and personal data about targeted individuals, in order to assist social interaction. The C.A.S.I.E. implant uses an Optical Psychophysiological Responses Analyzer (aka 'Optical Polygraph') to gauge a rudimentary psychological profile based on facial expression, body language, and environmental cues. Combined with the advanced Emotional Intelligence Enhancer software engine, the system can deliver real-time predictive data directly to the user, enabling them to correctly interpret responses and draw the desired result from face-to-face conversations. (In other words, tell someone exactly what they need to hear for Adam to get what he needs out of them, This would only be used with other players' consent)

>Stealth Enhancer: Provides ambient noise feedback to render Adam silent to enemies as well as ability to track sounds/movement of enemies (even those not within visual range).

EYE AUGMENTATIONS:
>Smart Vision: An optical membrane implant that enables people already equipped with the Eye-Know Retinal Prosthesis to visually scan through walls, doors, and cover objects and see what lies beyond.

>Retinal Prosthesis: (this is what makes Adam's eyes weirdly green) An optical membrane implant and data-frame for vision augmentations, this device is a microthin base coating layered onto the inside of the human eye, with a synthetic neural tissue spike connected to the optic nerve; it is capable of projecting digital information directly on to the retina. The HUD projected by the prosthesis provides data on the user's medical condition, available equipment, wireless access to personal data storage, and direct audio/visual telecommunications.

ARM AUGMENTATIONS:
>Cybernetic Arm Prosthesis: The Cybernetic Arm Prosthesis replaces the user's organic limbs with enhanced-function mechanical substitutes. This means Adam can lift extraordinary weight (like dumpsters and fridges), instantly take-down enemies with one hit, and punch through concrete walls. His arm prosthesis also absorbs harsh recoil from firing weapons, stabilizes for better aim, and compensations for movement so that Adam can maintain aim while moving/running. It should also be noted that his arm prosthesis can shift and move parts for different take-downs. For example his fingers can dislocate and wrist rotate 360 degrees, and the arm pieces can shift to unsheathe long blades.

TORSO AUGMENTATIONS:

>Sentinel RX Health System: A combination implant that uses electro-cardio action, adrenal stimuli, and protein therapy to fight infection and injury throughout a limited 'regenerative' capacity. This includes Implanted Cardiovertor Defibrillator to restart the heart and Angiogenesis Protein Therapy which delivers biomedical assistant to anywhere in the body. He has an Implanted Rebreather which allows him to inhale toxic air without damage, as well as sprint for long durations with no fatigue

>Sarif Series 8 Energy Converter: The Sarif Series 8 Energy Converter gives users the ability to maximize the energy available to any and all of their neuroaugmentations by transforming ordinary food to energy within augmentation-specific cells. What this means is that the huge bursts of energy necessary to execute the higher functions of his augmentations can be offset easily by simply consuming food (high-protein preferably).

>Typhoon Explosive System: In effect, the Typhoon augmentation turns its user into a human fragmentation grenade, placing him or her at the center of a blast radius that inflicts a ranged sphere of damage on surrounding targets, in all directions, without focus or aim. NOTE: This ability requires special Typhoon ammunition that someone would have to recreate for him, in order for him to be able to use this ability.

BACK AUGMENTATIONS:
>Icarus Landing System: Generates a fixed-focus electromagnetic lensing field, projected downward along the plane of the drop. This field pushes against the Earth's magnetosphere and slows the user's descent to a manageable velocity, allowing him to fall from almost any height (~100m)

>Quicksilver Reflex Booster: Essentially a supercharger for the human nervous system, boosting reflex speed and the firing of nerve clusters throughout the body.

SKIN AUGMENTATIONS:
>Glass Shield Cloaking System: When activated, the GlassShield Cloaking System augmentation bends the light hitting the user, rendering him practically invisible. The effect will work on any wavelength that is part of the visual spectrum, including laser beams.

>Dermal Armor: Essentially a technologically-advanced version of implanted body armor, this augmentation is able to reduce inflicted damage effects from blunt trauma, ballistic attacks, cutting, and/or slashing attacks. Secondary functionality also provides protection from electromagnetic pulse (EMP) assault.

LEG AUGMENTATION:
>Cybernetic Leg Prosthesis: Replaces a person's organic limbs with enhanced-function mechanical substitutes. On a basic level, these grant the user the ability to reach greater heights while jumping. Additional functionalists, including enhanced jump range, greater sprint speed, and the ability to move without audible detection.
